    Overview

    A leading financial institution is seeking an experienced credit risk professional to join its independent Credit Review function. This role is responsible for assessing the quality of credit decisions, evaluating risk management practices, and identifying emerging risks across portfolios with exposure to hedge funds, asset managers, institutional counterparties, and structured finance transactions.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead and execute credit review examinations, portfolio assessments, and transaction reviews across complex credit portfolios
    • Evaluate underwriting decisions, credit processes, risk ratings, and counterparty credit exposures
    • Assess adherence to risk policies, governance standards, and regulatory expectations
    • Identify, communicate, and monitor risk findings, ensuring timely remediation and issue resolution
    • Support portfolio reporting, risk assessments, and coverage planning activities
    • Partner closely with stakeholders across Risk, Audit, Compliance, and business teams to discuss findings and emerging risks
    • Review and challenge transactional testing and analysis performed by team members
    • Maintain thorough documentation and high-quality work papers in support of review conclusions
    • Contribute to improvement initiatives and assist in enhancing review methodologies
    • Mentor junior team members and support the development of best practices across the team

    Requirements

    • 8+ years of experience in credit risk, underwriting, portfolio management, credit review, audit, regulatory oversight, or related functions
    • Strong understanding of counterparty credit risk concepts, including exposure measurement, margining, stress testing, and trading agreements
    • Experience analyzing hedge funds, asset managers, financial institutions, or structured finance transactions
    • Strong credit analysis, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities
    • Ability to present findings and influence stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization
    • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
