    About Redo

Redo builds post-purchase software for modern e-commerce brands — returns and exchanges, package protection, order tracking, and the claims and customer-experience workflows that sit behind them — with deep integrations into Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and BigCommerce. Since our founding in 2022 we've grown fast, and our legal function is growing with the business.

    The role

We're hiring the second attorney at Redo. You'll partner directly with the Head of Legal to own legal work across the company as a true generalist. Commercial contracts will be your primary focus out of the gate — you'll quickly become the person the business relies on to get deals done well and quickly — but the mandate is broader than any single practice area. As the company grows, so will the range of questions that land on your desk, and we're looking for someone who runs toward that.

This is a high-autonomy, high-ownership role for someone who is genuinely self-driven. You won't wait to be handed a playbook; you'll build one. You'll be comfortable being the first lawyer to touch an unfamiliar area of law, getting smart quickly, and giving practical, business-minded guidance. If you like operating independently, wearing many hats, and having real influence over how a legal function is built from the ground up, you'll thrive here.

    What you'll do

    • Commercial contracts (primary focus): Draft, review, and negotiate the full range of the company's commercial agreements — SaaS and platform agreements, customer and merchant contracts, vendor and partner deals, order forms, and NDAs. Own the contracting process end to end and help build the templates, playbooks, and workflows that let the business move faster.

    • Privacy and data protection: Advise on privacy, data protection, and data-processing terms as the platform handles more consumer and merchant data; help shape our approach to DPAs and evolving privacy obligations.

    • IP and regulatory: Support trademark and IP matters and help the company navigate consumer-protection and e-commerce regulatory questions relevant to our products.

    • Whatever the business needs: Take on new areas of law as they come up — corporate, employment, product, and the range of one-off questions that come with a fast-growing company. Be the pragmatic generalist who figures it out.

    • Build the function: Partner with the Head of Legal to develop scalable processes, templates, and self-serve resources so legal is an enabler, not a bottleneck.

    What we're looking for

    • 3–6 years of relevant legal experience, ideally a mix of top law firm and in-house work.

    • Strong commercial contracts background — you can independently run a commercial or SaaS negotiation from first draft to signature.

    • Generalist instincts and intellectual range — you're excited to take on unfamiliar areas of law, learn quickly, and give sound, practical advice outside your comfort zone.

    • Self-driven and low-ego — you take ownership, set your own priorities, and get things done without a lot of structure around you.

    • Excellent judgment and communication — you translate legal risk into clear, actionable guidance that business partners actually use.

    • J.D. and active membership in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar (Utah admission or eligibility to register as in-house counsel in Utah a plus).

    • In-office in Draper, Utah — you're excited to work alongside the team day to day.

    • Compensation and benefits
