The organization is adding a Senior Cost Accountant to strengthen manufacturing cost visibility, inventory accounting, operational analysis, and financial reporting.

Job Details

The Senior Cost Accountant will connect financial reporting with activity on the manufacturing floor. This person will maintain and analyze product and inventory costs, investigate manufacturing variances, support month-end close, and provide greater visibility into the operational factors affecting costs and margins.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and analyze manufacturing cost information across products, inventory, and production activity
  • Support standard costing and maintain product cost structures
  • Analyze material, labor, overhead, purchase-price, usage, and other manufacturing variances
  • Perform inventory accounting, reconciliations, reserve analysis, and related month-end activities
  • Evaluate bills of materials, routings, labor standards, overhead assumptions, and other product-cost inputs
  • Partner with manufacturing and operations leaders to investigate variances and improve financial visibility
  • Analyze product costs, margins, inventory trends, and manufacturing KPIs
  • Support annual cost rolls, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and continuous improvement of cost-accounting processes

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Progressive accounting experience with meaningful manufacturing cost-accounting exposure
  • Hands-on experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing variance analysis
  • Working knowledge of standard costing and manufacturing accounting concepts
  • Experience operating within an ERP-driven manufacturing environment
  • Strong Excel and financial analysis capabilities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with accounting, finance, manufacturing, production, and supply-chain stakeholders
