    Senior Cost Accountant

    About the Opportunity

    Are you a numbers-driven accounting professional looking to grow your career in a dynamic manufacturing environment?

    A well-established and growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join its accounting team. This individual will play a key role in cost accounting, financial reporting, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, inventory support, and cross-functional business partnering.     Location: Los Angeles, California (On-Site)

    Key Responsibilities

    • Post daily cash receipts and customer billings
    • Assist with accounts receivable collections and aging reporting
    • Process customer credit applications
    • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
    • Maintain fixed asset records and schedules
    • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
    • Support general ledger maintenance and month-end close activities
    • Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analyses
    • Review job costing and investigate cost variances
    • Support internal audits, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
    • Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting activities
    • Partner with operations, sales, shipping, and leadership teams to support decision-making
    • Analyze financial data and prepare management reports
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy
    • Assist with external audit requests and documentation

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
    • Manufacturing accounting experience required
    • Cost accounting experience required
    • Strong understanding of GAAP
    • Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close
    • Advanced Excel skills
    • Experience with manufacturing ERP systems
    • Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization
