Senior Cost Accountant

A well-established and growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to join its accounting team. This individual will play a key role in cost accounting, financial reporting, month-end close activities, account reconciliations, inventory support, and cross-functional business partnering. Location: Los Angeles, California (On-Site)
Key Responsibilities
- Post daily cash receipts and customer billings
- Assist with accounts receivable collections and aging reporting
- Process customer credit applications
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
- Maintain fixed asset records and schedules
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Support general ledger maintenance and month-end close activities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analyses
- Review job costing and investigate cost variances
- Support internal audits, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
- Assist with annual budgeting and forecasting activities
- Partner with operations, sales, shipping, and leadership teams to support decision-making
- Analyze financial data and prepare management reports
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy
- Assist with external audit requests and documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Manufacturing accounting experience required
- Cost accounting experience required
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience with manufacturing ERP systems
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization
