    Senior Cost Accountant

    Location: Waterloo/Cedar Falls area, IA
    Employment Type: Full-Time
    Compensation: $100K-$120K

    About the Opportunity

    Pathway Talent Partners is partnering with a well-established manufacturing client to identify a Senior Cost Accountant. In this role, you will play a key part in analyzing cost structures, supporting month-end close, and driving visibility into manufacturing performance across multiple business units. This position offers an opportunity to create and drive processes, while receiving guidance and support.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the monthly close cycle with a focus on inventory reconciliation, including entries related to transfers and variance analysis

    • Evaluate and report on gross margin performance, partnering with both Finance and Operations to communicate key insights

    • Collaborate with U.S. manufacturing sites on cycle count programs, as well as maintaining and reviewing labor and overhead rates, bills of materials, and routing structures

    • Leverage cost accounting methodologies to enhance processes tied to inventory, margin analysis, and financial reporting

    • Assess production costs, including labor absorption, to identify variances and opportunities for operational improvement

    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of work center rates across manufacturing operations

    • Review completed production orders, investigate significant variances, and recommend process improvements where applicable

    • Participate in the annual standard cost roll, including analysis of cost changes, as well as supporting ad hoc updates as needed

    • Generate and refine OEE metrics utilizing the company’s ERP system

    • Provide support on additional analyses, initiatives, and special projects as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance, or related field
    • 3+ years Cost accounting experience
    • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little direction, as well as being comfortable in a team-oriented environment
    • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to prioritize/organize daily workload
    • Exposure to process improvement ideas in an accounting setting is highly desired
