Hiring Department: Student Engagement and Leadership Center
Reports To: Assistant Director
Job Location: Onsite, El Paso, TX

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm, flexibility is required on evenings and weekends
FLSA status: exempt
Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.
Salary: Commensurate with experience.

Position Summary
The Student Engagement and Leadership Center (SELC) promotes the principles of engagement and leadership by offering programs and services focused on enhancing the personal, educational, leadership, and social development of students enrolled at the University of Texas at El Paso. The Senior coordinator of leadership development is responsible for working with faculty and staff partners to create large and small-scale leadership programs across campus for all students according to university policies and regulations.

Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university
and
Experience: Three years of experience, related to the statement of duties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Preferred Experience: At least two years of professional experience working in higher education or related field in education and related to the statement of duties and responsibilities (or equivalent combination of education and experience); knowledge of student development theory; knowledge of leadership education curriculum; knowledge of peer to peer mentoring models; demonstrated experience working with student organizations and program development; Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

About the Department
The Student Engagement and Leadership Center (SELC) at The University of Texas at El Paso serves as the central hub for student involvement, leadership development, and campus traditions. SELC provides programs and services that enhance student experience by fostering personal growth, leadership skills, and community engagement.
The center oversees a wide range of areas, including student organizations, the Miners Leadership Initiative, fraternity and sorority life, engagement opportunities, and campus-wide events. Through these efforts, SELC creates meaningful opportunities for students to connect, explore their interests, and develop skills that prepare them for success beyond university.
