    Job Description:

    We are currently seeking a Senior Automation Engineer for a role based in Wilmington, MA. The ideal candidate will possess proven technical expertise in implementing automation solutions using PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA platforms.

    As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will directly engage with clients, leading a team of engineers in identifying requirements, developing specifications, and implementing, testing, commissioning, and qualifying automation solutions. This leadership role within the business unit demands strong problem-solving skills, methodical project management abilities, well-balanced interpersonal skills, a knack for business efficiency, and an interest in cultivating partnerships.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Deliver innovative automation solutions and design standards either independently or as a team leader.
    • Conceptualize, detail, and implement control systems for industrial processes and machinery.
    • Develop control system architecture, select components, detail schematic diagrams and system documentation.
    • Program controllers (PLC, DCS, RTU), process visualization (HMI/SCADA), and databases for archiving/displaying historical system data.
    • Implement and commission control systems at client facilities.
    • Utilize controller programming languages such as Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, Structured Text, and others.
    • Knowledge of standard programming languages (VBA, .NET, SQL) for HMI/SCADA systems is preferred.
    • Design and implement industrial networking systems using protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.
    • Undertake project management responsibilities, including developing execution plans, work breakdown structures, budgets, task prioritization, scheduling, time tracking, reporting, and conflict resolution.
    • Oversee daily operations and activities of projects up to $1M, ensuring overall profitability.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science.
    • Over 10 years of experience with in-depth understanding of PLC, HMI/SCADA, and DCS platforms.
    • Familiarity with electrical schematics, AutoCAD, and experience leading engineering teams.
    • Proven experience managing automation design and implementation projects in the Life Science industry.
    • Strong knowledge of S88 Batch, regulatory requirements (cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11), GAMP5, validation, IT/OT networking, and automation protocols.
    • Experience with relational databases (SQL, Oracle).
    • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills.
    • Professional references required.

    Travel:

    Ability to travel up to 25%.

    Physical Demands of Position:

    Seeing, color perception, hearing, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, ability to mount/dismount equipment, pushing, and pulling.

    Working Conditions:
