    About Castelion

Castelion is bringing a new approach to defense development and production: short, iterative design cycles, rapid testing in development, and modern commercial manufacturing strategies for production at scale. The company is designing, building, and testing next-generation long-range strike weapons systems to give America and its allies a definitive edge and deter future conflicts.

This is an early-stage opportunity where your work will directly shape critical systems, influence major technical decisions, and have immediate real-world impact.

    The Opportunity

Castelion is looking for a Senior Control Electronics Engineer to design and deliver real-time electronic control systems for long-range hypersonic strike vehicles. You will work hands-on with multidisciplinary engineering teams to design, build, test, and validate control electronics hardware, with a focus on thrust vector control systems and attitude control system drivers in a high flight cadence, hardware-driven environment.

This role is central to enabling precise actuation and vehicle control. You will architect and implement actuator control systems, develop high-reliability analog and mixed-signal circuits, and work directly with GNC, avionics, and flight software teams to ensure seamless integration of control electronics with vehicle systems.

    What You’ll Do

    • •      Design and develop real-time control electronics for flight-critical systems including TVC controllers and ACS driver electronics
    • •      Lead the architecture and implementation of actuator control systems including motor drivers, valve drivers, and associated feedback and control loops
    • •      Develop high-reliability analog and mixed-signal circuits for precision control, sensing, and actuation
    • •      Work closely with GNC, avionics, and flight software teams to ensure seamless integration of control electronics with vehicle systems
    • •      Perform circuit-level and system-level modeling and analysis to validate performance, stability, and robustness under dynamic flight conditions
    • •      Support hardware bring-up, integration, and test campaigns including debugging, root cause analysis, and performance tuning
    • •      Define and execute qualification and flight test plans, translating results into system-level improvements
    • •      Ensure designs meet requirements for thermal performance, EMI/EMC, and operation in extreme environments
    • •      Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in control electronics design

    You Should Have

    • •      5+ years of experience designing and validating control electronics for aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability systems
    • •      Strong background in real-time control systems, actuator electronics, and feedback control implementation in hardware
    • •      Experience designing motor drivers, valve drivers, or similar high-performance actuator control electronics
    • •      Proficiency in analog and mixed-signal circuit design, simulation, and analysis using tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or equivalent
    • •      Experience with hardware bring-up, integration, and troubleshooting in a lab or flight hardware environment
    • •      Familiarity with EMI/EMC design practices, ruggedized electronics, and operation in high-vibration and high-temperature environments
    • •      Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field
    • •      U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
