Summary
Job Summary: Under general direction, provides administrative and specialized contracting support for the Healthcare Contracting Department; Responsible for composing and issuing contracts, initiating purchase orders and monitoring the contract approval process.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification, however, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.
Assists in negotiating agreements that are within scope of the function of the Healthcare Contracting department.
Assists management in analyzing new vendor contracts, including the analysis of vendor capabilities, projected costs and prior performance.
Maintains provider and vendor hard copy files, updates information relative to the nature and scope of services, capabilities, past performance, and current location.
Manages and administers AHS's contracts management application.
Monitors the flow of contracts during the approval process.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Prepares ad-hoc reports and correspondence for AHS management.
Process requests for new and amended contracts.
Work in collaboration with the Purchasing, Accounts Payable departments and AHS staff to address purchase order queries related to Contracts or Contracted Services; Determine appropriate solution and provide guidance, adjust fund totals, and/or amend the relevant contract(s) as needed.
Maintain logs and shared drive contracting folders per department protocol.
Register AHS construction projects with the CA Department of Industrial Relations to comply with public works requirements. Provide guidance to AHS staff as needed to ensure compliance with registration criteria.
Qualifications
Required Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Required Experience: Six years in an administrative role.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Preferred Experience: Previous experience within a contract function within a healthcare environment.
Pay Range: $34.46 - $57.43 / Hour
The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
