OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Vice President & Senior Manager of Client Experience, the Senior Consultant is responsible for leading day-to-day project execution, owning workflows, and ensuring high-quality client delivery across multiple engagements. The Senior Consultant provides strategic counsel to clients in one or more practice areas. The Senior Consultant is dedicated to outstanding client satisfaction and demonstrates critical thinking by interpreting and addressing each client's respective needs. This role blends project management, subject matter expertise, and collaboration to drive consistent, high-value outcomes for clients.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Consultant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as client and project lead by providing project management oversight and direction of client engagements.
  • Provide specialized expertise in all areas of fundraising and advancement, including the implementation and assessment of capital campaigns and ongoing development programs, board development, executive coaching, and development staff training.
  • Manage implementation of project timelines and ensure expectations are met, including workflow ownership, task coordination, and internal/external communications.
  • Contribute to client strategy and recommendations; produce and review core project work products, ensuring they meet firm standards for quality and rigor.
  • Coordinate with the Vice President & Senior Manager and project teams to ensure that client projects are on schedule and cost-effective.
  • Manage and monitor client satisfaction and escalate to project owner as needed.
  • Maintain accountability for deliverable timelines and proactively identify risks, dependencies, or issues that may impact delivery.
  • Work closely with Vice Presidents, Senior Consultants, and Consultants to support integrated client delivery.
  • Apply sector knowledge to strengthen client recommendations, project outputs, and internal best practices.
  • Partner with the Client Development team to drive new business primarily with existing clients through renewals and added services and participate in sales presentations as appropriate.
  • Provide mentorship to team members and new hires.
  • Contribute to innovation and the continuous improvement of delivery methodologies, tools and internal resources to improve efficiency and project profitability.
  • Participate actively and regularly in firm meetings, events, workgroups, and task forces.
  • Establish professional development goals that help build skill sets.
  • Demonstrate excellence, remain committed to learning, and respond to firm requests in a timely manner.
  • Seek and share new knowledge about trends in the field.

The Senior Consultant may be assigned additional relevant job-specific duties and responsibilities as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience in a related discipline is required from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of seven years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising or consulting
  • Expertise in fundraising strategy, major gifts, campaigns, and nonprofit development operations

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong understanding of nonprofit fundraising practices and sector dynamics
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills, professional presence, and ability to self-assess and grow as a practice leader
  • Demonstrated success managing several projects simultaneously, including expectations and deadlines from multiple internal and external engagements
  • Strong achievement orientation balanced with the discipline and collaborative spirit necessary to join an established firm
  • High initiative, energy, and ability to be effective both independently and in a team setting
  • Ability to earn the confidence of a wide range of internal and external constituents

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical Requirements: This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones. This is a largely sedentary role. Campbell & Company will provide reasonable accommodation to enable qualified individuals to perform the role.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This position is based in the Seattle, WA office and serves as part of the West Coast team. The Senior Consultant should plan for up to 50% of travel/onsite time with clients.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position is $129,000 to $142,000.
