With 20-plus years of experience and operating in 45+ markets around the world, Slalom teams have the autonomy to move fast and do what's right for our clients, making us more personal and nimbler than traditional consulting firms.

At Slalom, we offer variety, fulfilment, and balance. You can work with the world's top companies, keep up with the latest technology, flex your skills across industries, pursue your life outside of work, and spend quality time with your family. After launching our Auckland office in February 2023, we are continuing to grow, and this role is yet another opportunity to start your journey with Slalom and help us shape the future.

Senior Consultant - Data

Slalom's Data capability is focused on injecting intelligence into organisations, engineering systems that support learning and insight, and creating innovative data solutions. Within Data we help customers build world-class data environments through effective use of:

  • Modern data platforms and architecture - designing scalable, future-proof data foundations that enable organisations to derive maximum value from their data assets
  • Real-time and streaming data solutions - enabling immediate insights and actions through event-driven architectures and continuous data processing
  • Machine learning and artificial intelligence - embedding intelligence into processes and systems to drive automated decision-making and innovation
  • Data engineering best practices - implementing DataOps methodologies and engineering excellence to ensure reliable, high-quality data delivery
  • Data strategy and architecture - developing comprehensive approaches that align data initiatives with business objectives and designing scalable, future-proof data foundations
  • Specialised data technologies - leveraging purpose-built data storage and processing solutions to address unique business challenges and use cases

What You'll Do

  • Solve clients' most critical and complex problems by designing and delivering cloud-based modern data architectures and advanced analytics solutions.
  • Build successful client outcomes by developing innovative data platforms and robust data models that enable organisations to leverage and organise their enterprise data for meaningful insights.
  • Act as a senior subject matter expert in data & analytics, engaging directly with stakeholders and influencing senior executives through clear, customer-focused solution development.
  • Support the planning, delivery, and execution of projects across multiple industries-translating complex data challenges into actionable insights and measurable business value.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional practice areas to create go-to-market assets, marketing materials, reusable frameworks, and thought leadership tied to emerging trends and real client use cases.
  • Drive knowledge sharing across teams and markets to bring innovative approaches and best practices to local client engagements.
  • Mentor and coach consultants across all levels, supporting their growth in analysis, modelling, data visualisation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Work within a fun, inclusive, and collaborative team culture where you can be yourself and enjoy both work and life.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong experience as a Senior Consultant or equivalent in a consulting or client-facing environment.
  • Proven ability to analyse complex business problems and translate them into structured data requirements, solution designs, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Hands-on capability in data modelling, data analysis, and visualisation (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and an understanding of modern data architectures that support advanced analytics.
  • Strong consulting skills, including:

§ Stakeholder engagement and facilitation

§ Requirements gathering and technical business analysis

§ Presenting insights to senior business and technology leaders

  • Ability to shape and deliver data & analytics solutions that drive business value and influence executive decision-making.
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for working across disciplines to co-create innovative client solutions.
  • A desire to contribute to the growth of the practice through knowledge sharing, mentoring, and developing thought leadership.
  • A positive, curious attitude and a commitment to fostering a team culture where people can thrive personally and professionally.
