Responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:Stakeholder RelationsFostering positive relationships with partners, residents, governments, contractors, and consultantsAssisting engineering teams with various functions (such as permitting efforts) to support timely construction deliveryProject ManagementOverseeing multiple projects and ensuring compliance with DWSD safety and quality protocols during all planning/field operationsSupporting smooth project execution by procuring and managing construction contracts, approving payment applications, developing risk mitigation strategies, resolving project issues, and coordinating the schedule and startup activities with the operations teamDeveloping budgets while considering contingencies, scope changes, and unforeseen issuesActively monitoring project progress and stepping in where needed to meet timelines and quality expectationsHelping design and plan ongoing and forecasted projectsDeveloping and reporting key performance metricsDocument ManagementMaintaining accurate project documentation (permits, contractor submittals, RFIs, delivery notes, change orders, meeting minutes, etc.) and thoroughly recording all project activities, correspondence, and decisionsFacilitating smooth communication between the site project teams, engineers, and partnersProviding updates on milestones, challenges, and accomplishments to the Dominion team, Capital Programs Manager, and other stakeholdersQuality Assurance and TestingCoordinating third-party quality assurance audits (QAAs)Maintaining the record-keeping platform to support accurate real-time reportingInspecting installed work and stored materialsCoordinating with engineers and operations teams to manage testing/inspection consultants and approve critical equipment installationsSENIOR CONSTRUCTION MANAGER REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree (BS) in construction management, civil engineering, or a closely related field8+ years of construction management experience, with proven experience managing projects from beginning to end and handling aspects like scheduling, planning, and cost controlsStrong understanding of water/wastewater capital construction and project managementAbility to work with minimal supervision and follow up with crew members to ensure issues are properly resolvedAbility to wear all PPE and work in various environments, including a professional office, different job sites, and a construction trailerWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (specifically Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint)Proficiency with scheduling software (i.e., Procore, Primavera P6, or MS Project)Valid driver's license with a willingness to conduct site visits and travel to meetings in/out of our service areaSharp attention to detail with meticulous documentation & recordkeeping skillsStrong communication skills for coordinating with external agencies, partners, and contractors/developers in person, over the phone, and through emailEffective organizational, multitasking, and time management skillsCertified Construction Manager (CCM) license and experience working directly for a municipality, water district, or related contractor would be preferred.
