Senior Component Quality Technologist

Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Pay: $59,081 - $76,373 annually
Pay Schedule: Weekly
Overtime: As needed based on production demands, generally not expected to exceed 10 hours per week.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Component Quality Technologist to support quality assurance activities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for inspecting mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications, supporting root cause investigations, and partnering with production and engineering teams to maintain the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections of components and assemblies using engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
  • Utilize precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Interpret and apply GD&T requirements to verify product conformance.
  • Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming materials or quality concerns.
  • Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Assist with calibration and verification of inspection equipment.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior quality and inspection personnel as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with established quality systems, safety procedures, and manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience, including quality inspection or quality assurance responsibilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Working knowledge of GD&T and precision measurement techniques.
  • Experience using common inspection tools and equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
  • Associate degree in a technical or manufacturing-related field.
  • ISO 9001, ASQ, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma experience.
  • Experience supporting quality initiatives within a production manufacturing environment.
