Oxford Solutions is working with a client seeking an experienced Senior Component Engineer to support component standardization, qualification, lifecycle management, and supply chain risk reduction across engineering and manufacturing programs.

This role will evaluate electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical components to ensure they meet performance, quality, cost, compliance, and availability requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain standardized component and material specifications
  • Evaluate, select, test, and qualify components against technical requirements
  • Monitor component obsolescence, shortages, and end-of-life notifications
  • Identify and validate alternate components to reduce supply chain risk
  • Review technical drawings, schematics, datasheets, and test results
  • Partner with design engineering teams to select cost-effective, compliant, and readily available parts
  • Provide technical support to engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and project teams
  • Investigate component failures and support root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Ensure components meet applicable quality and regulatory standards
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other component engineering team members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience, or an associate degree in Electronics with at least 15 years of relevant experience
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical components
  • Experience with component selection, evaluation, testing, qualification, and material specifications
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, circuit diagrams, and schematics
  • Experience managing component obsolescence and identifying replacement parts
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prepare detailed engineering reports and technical documentation
