    Job Description:
    The University of Florida Human Resources is seeking a strategic thinker who pairs deep compensation expertise with exceptional analytical, consulting, and executive communication skills. You should be comfortable navigating complex structures, working with sensitive information, challenging conventional approaches, and translating sophisticated compensation data into practical recommendations leaders can act on.

    Reporting under the general direction of the Vice President for Human Resources, you will work with significant independence and collaborate with senior leaders, HR and Finance partners, colleges and administrative units, external consultants, and other key stakeholders. You will influence some of UF’s most important compensation decisions while leading high-visibility initiatives that affect employees across the university.
     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Shape enterprise compensation strategy: Develop and evaluate compensation philosophies, programs, salary structures, and practices that strengthen UF’s ability to compete for and retain exceptional talent. 
    • Advise on executive compensation: Provide sophisticated market analysis and strategic recommendations related to executive and senior leadership compensation, including recruitment, retention, market positioning, peer groups, and compensation practices. 
    • Turn data into strategy: Lead complex market benchmarking, financial modeling, compensation analytics, and workforce analyses, transforming data into clear recommendations for senior decision-makers. 
    • Lead university-wide salary initiatives: Guide the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of annual merit and salary increase programs in partnership with university leadership, Finance, HR, colleges, and administrative units.
    • Help transform the future of compensation at UF: Provide strategic compensation leadership as the university transitions to Workday and identify opportunities to strengthen compensation programs through technology, analytics, automation, standardization, and improved governance.
    • Lead through influence: Manage complex cross-functional initiatives and partner with external compensation consultants, survey organizations, and market data providers while providing strategic direction and expertise across organizational boundaries.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Complex, cross-functional project leadership
    • Compensation surveys, market data, and external consulting partnerships
    • Higher education or another large, complex, decentralized organization
    • CCP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or a comparable professional certification
