About the Role

A growing real estate law practice is seeking a senior attorney to lead sophisticated lender-side commercial real estate finance transactions. You will manage deals from inception through closing, work directly with clients, and help deliver creative legal solutions across a nationwide portfolio.

What You'll Do

  • Independently manage complex commercial real estate lending transactions from inception to closing.
  • Draft and negotiate loan documents for large transactions, including construction and mezzanine loans.
  • Supervise and provide substantive corrections to junior associates' work on active matters.
  • Serve as a primary client contact and develop practical solutions for private lenders.
  • Collaborate with partners and paralegals on lender-side matters involving assets such as industrial properties and data centers.

What We're Looking For

  • Eight or more years of lender-side commercial real estate finance experience, with a record of independently running deals.
  • Experience representing private, non-institutional lenders and negotiating complex transactions with sophisticated opposing counsel.
  • Substantive drafting and negotiation experience, including construction, mezzanine, or workout financing; experience limited to diligence or title review is not sufficient.
  • Experience supervising junior attorneys and willingness to stay hands-on with drafting and deal work.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and admission to the New York Bar, or eligibility to waive in.
  • A relevant deal sheet and a collaborative, entrepreneurial approach; boutique or mid-sized real estate law firm experience is valued.
  • Familiarity with Harvey AI and other AI drafting tools is relevant.
