Job Details
We are seeking an experienced commercial litigator to join a sophisticated and growing litigation practice. This opportunity is well suited for an attorney with 5-10 years of experience who is comfortable taking ownership of complex matters and wants meaningful responsibility in both case management and client-facing work.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling litigation from inception through resolution, including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and working with fact and expert witnesses. Candidates should be equally comfortable working independently and collaborating with senior attorneys and clients to develop and execute litigation strategy.
What You'll Do
Manage substantive aspects of complex commercial litigation matters in state and federal courts.
Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
Lead and manage fact and expert discovery, including depositions and document discovery.
Develop and implement e-discovery strategies and manage discovery processes.
Take and defend depositions and assist with expert witness preparation.
Identify and address discovery issues and disputes.
Work closely with partners and clients on case strategy, legal analysis, and matter management.
Manage competing priorities, deadlines, and multiple matters with strong judgment and organization.
Delegate work to and mentor junior associates while effectively managing matters both independently and as part of a team.
Participate in client development and business development initiatives as appropriate.
What We're Looking For
General commercial litigation experience.
Strong state and federal court experience.
Demonstrated experience with depositions, discovery, discovery disputes, motion practice, and expert discovery.
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
Excellent judgment and the ability to independently manage substantive litigation matters.
Strong interpersonal and client-service skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Experience supervising or mentoring junior attorneys.
J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
Active bar admission in the attorney's resident or affiliated office jurisdiction.
Candidates with government litigation experience who are interested in transitioning to private practice are also encouraged to apply.
