Job Description

Underwrite and price complex commercial and auto accounts, including large fleets. Analyze underwriting data (loss runs, MVRs, IFTAs, SAFER/CAB reports, etc.) to assess risk. Manage and grow a profitable book of business while maintaining underwriting discipline. Mentor junior underwriters and provide guidance. Collaborate with claims and risk control teams to identify trends and improvements. Ensure compliance with underwriting policies, regulations, and state guidelines.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Commercial Underwriter should have:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance or related field (preferred).
5+ years of commercial auto underwriting experience.
Professional designations (CPCU, AU, ARM) strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of ISO, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and fleet operations.
Proficiency in underwriting systems, rating tools, and Microsoft Office.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Strong knowledge of underwriting principles within the insurance industry.
Experience with risk assessment and management in commercial insurance.
Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
