    If you thrive on dialing in the perfect cut, fixing what others can’t, and leaving a process better than you found it, this role is for you. You’ll be our go-to for advanced CNC lathe setups, high-accuracy part verification, and on-the-spot troubleshooting—while coaching others to do the same.

    Your impact (highlights)

    • Advanced machine setup, safe operation, and rapid troubleshooting on production jobs.
    • Start-up/shutdown routines, precise material loading, and fixture/tooling changeovers.
    • Dimensional and visual inspections with micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, comparators, and gages.
    • Real-time optimization: tweak speeds, feeds, and parameters to improve quality and throughput.
    • Root-cause issues tied to setup, tooling, and non-conformance; resolve program alarms efficiently.
    • Identify and escalate machine malfunctions; assist with minor mechanical repairs.
    • Preset tooling and perform preventative maintenance to maintain reliability.
    • Complete production documentation accurately and on schedule.
    • Propose and support process/scheduling improvements that drive cost, delivery, and performance.
    • Mentor junior machinists; share best practices and safe work habits.
    • Edit/modify programs to correct issues or enhance results.

    What you bring

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Advanced command of machining methods, equipment, and tooling; strong lathe expertise.
    • Hands-on CNC experience including part loading/unloading and inspection.
    • Proficiency with precision metrology: micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, comparators, and gages.
    • Ability to spot and correct tooling/machining issues (tool holders, collets, chucks, etc.).
    • Mechanically adept; able to diagnose and resolve minor equipment malfunctions.
    • Fast-paced, self-motivated, and an effective communicator.
    • Experience with conventional screw machines (Acme-Gridley, New Britain, Warner & Swasey “Trucker”).
    • Primary focus: CNC lathes (~90%); plus openness to milling tasks.
