    Position Summary

    Lagun Engineering is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machinery at customer facilities and in-house. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service abilities, and experience working with CNC equipment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Install, commission, and configure CNC machines at customer sites.
    • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues.
    • Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service on CNC equipment.
    • Troubleshoot CNC controllers, servo systems, spindle systems, and machine components.
    • Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
    • Calibrate and test machines to ensure proper operation and accuracy.
    • Provide customer training on machine operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
    • Document service calls, repairs performed, parts used, and recommendations.
    • Coordinate with technical support and engineering teams to resolve complex issues.
    • Maintain service vehicle, tools, and inventory of replacement parts.
    • Travel to customer locations as required, including occasional overnight travel.
    • Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.

    Qualifications

    • Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
    • 3+ years of experience servicing CNC machines.
    • Strong knowledge of CNC controls (Fanuc, Heidenhain, Fagor or similar).
    • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems up to 480V.
    • Mechanical aptitude including bearings, ball screws, spindle assemblies, lubrication systems, and machine alignment.
    • Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting is a plus.
    • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
    • Strong computer skills and ability to complete electronic service reports.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in manufacturing environments.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience with machining and turning centers.
    • Knowledge of G-code and machine programming.
    • Precision alignment using dial indicators, laser alignment, and calibration equipment.
    • Networking and industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.)

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined spaces.
    • Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
    • Travel up to 50% or as needed.
    • Ability to work overtime or weekends when required to support customers.
