Job Title: Senior Cloud Network Engineer Azure
Contract Type: Contract
Duration: Initially posted as a 6-month contract with a strong expectation of extension.
Location: Hybrid New York, NY or Pittsburgh, PA (2 3 days onsite)
Pay Rate: $70 80/hour (W-2), depending on experience
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Network Engineer to support enterprise network initiatives across both on-premises infrastructure and Microsoft Azure environments. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting secure hybrid connectivity while participating in network modernization and cloud migration projects.
The ideal candidate has a strong enterprise networking background with hands-on experience supporting Azure networking services in large-scale production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support enterprise network infrastructure across on-premises and Azure environments
- Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching for hybrid cloud connectivity
- Implement and maintain Microsoft Azure networking services
- Support network migration and infrastructure modernization initiatives
- Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure reliable connectivity
- Troubleshoot network performance, routing, and connectivity issues
- Document network configurations, topology changes, and implementation activities
- Participate in change management and production deployment activities
Required Qualifications
- Strong enterprise routing and switching experience
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise network environments
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure networking, including:
- Azure Virtual Networks (VNets)
- Virtual Network Peering
- Network Security Groups (NSGs)
- User-Defined Routes (UDRs)
- Azure Load Balancers
- VPN Gateway and/or ExpressRoute
- Experience supporting hybrid on-premises to Azure connectivity
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, and network troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications
- Cisco Nexus and/or Cisco Catalyst experience
- Cisco ACI experience
- Enterprise DNS and load balancing experience
- Experience supporting data center migrations or infrastructure modernization projects
- Experience working in change-controlled production environments
Preferred Certifications
- CCNP Enterprise
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate (AZ-700)
- CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure
