    POSITION SUMMARY

    CVS Health is seeking a Senior Cloud Data Security Engineer – Data Loss Prevention (DLP) to help safeguard the sensitive data assets of one of the nation's largest healthcare, pharmacy, and retail organizations. The Senior Cloud Data Security Engineer – Data Loss Prevention (DLP) serves as a senior member of the Data Protection Team and is responsible for designing, implementing, and advancing enterprise-wide data protection capabilities that secure Data in Motion (DIM), Data in Use (DIU), and cloud-hosted data across a highly complex and regulated environment. The Senior Cloud Data Security Engineer – Data Loss Prevention (DLP) will lead the development and maturation of strategic DLP programs spanning cloud, endpoint, email, network, SaaS, and AI/ML ecosystems while ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and evolving cyber threats.

    The Senior Cloud Data Security Engineer – Data Loss Prevention (DLP) partners closely with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, Data Engineering, AI/ML, Enterprise Architecture, Privacy, Compliance, and business teams to deliver scalable and effective data protection solutions. The Senior Cloud Data Security Engineer – Data Loss Prevention (DLP) is responsible for preventing unauthorized disclosure, misuse, loss, or exfiltration of sensitive information, including PHI, PII, PCI, and proprietary CVS Health data. This position will drive data classification and labeling initiatives, enhance visibility into data movement across enterprise platforms, and build automated detection and response capabilities that improve security outcomes while minimizing operational friction.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design, implement,andcontinuouslymatureenterpriseDataLossPrevention(DLP)strategies,policies,andcontrolsacrosscloud,endpoint,email,network,SaaS,andcollaborationplatformstoprotectsensitivedatafromunauthorizedaccess,disclosure,misuse,andexfiltration.

    • Lead the end-to-end DLP program lifecycle, includingdataclassificationandlabeling,policydevelopment,ruletuning,incidentmanagement,investigations,rootcauseanalysis,remediation,andcontinuousimprovementofdataprotectioncapabilitiesgoverningPHI,PII,PCI,andproprietaryinformation.

    • Architect and enhance cloud data protectioncapabilitiesacrossAWS,Azure,GCP,andhybridenvironmentsutilizingtechnologiesandframeworkssuchasMicrosoftPurview,CASB,CNAPP,CSPM,SASE,DSPM,ConditionalAccess,andZeroTrustarchitectures.

    • Design, implement, and enforce dataprotectioncontrolsforAI/MLplatforms,generativeAIsolutions,LargeLanguageModels(LLMs),AIagents,MLOpspipelines,andshadowAIusecasestopreventunauthorizedingestion,exposure,retention,ortransmissionofsensitiveandregulateddata.

    • Develop dashboards,metrics,keyriskindicators,andexecutivereportingthatmeasureDLPeffectiveness,controlcoverage,incidenttrends,andenterprisedataprotectionposture,whiledrivingautomationofpolicyenforcement,alerttriage,andresponseworkflowstoimproveoperationalefficiency.

    • Partner with Cybersecurity, Privacy, Compliance, Legal, Risk Management, Infrastructure,CloudEngineering,DataEngineering,EnterpriseArchitecture,andbusinessstakeholderstodefinedataprotectionstrategy,securitystandards,governanceprocesses,androadmapprioritiesalignedwithregulatoryandbusinessrequirements.

    • Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert for DLP, cloud data security, and AI/ML data protection, providing leadership and guidance for cloud transformations, AI platform deployments, digital modernization initiatives, and other strategicprogramswhileensuringalignmentwithindustryframeworksincludingNIST,CIS,CSA,HIPAA,PCI-DSS,andMITREATLAS.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • 5+yearsofexperiencedesigning,implementing,andsupportingenterprisecloudsecurityanddataprotectionsolutions,withastrongemphasisonDataLossPrevention(DLP)inlarge-scaleenvironments.

      • 5+yearsofhands-onexpertiseadministeringandoptimizingenterpriseDLPplatformssuchasMicrosoftPurview,Zscaler,PaloAlto,orequivalentdataprotectiontechnologies.

      • 5+yearsofdemonstratedsuccesscreating,deploying,andenforcingDLPpoliciesandcontrolsacrosscloud,endpoint,email,network,SaaS,andcollaborationplatforms.

      • 5+yearsworkingwithatleasttwomajorcloudplatforms,includingAWS,Azure,and/orGoogleCloudPlatform(GCP),implementingsecurityanddataprotectioncontrols.

      • 5+yearsofpracticalexperienceleveragingZeroTrustprinciples,CASB,CSPM,CNAPP,ConditionalAccess,andrelatedcloudsecurityframeworks.

      • 5+yearsofresponsibilityfordataclassification,informationprotection,andgovernanceinitiativesinvolvingPHI,PII,PCI,confidential,andproprietarydata.

      • 5+yearspartneringwithcybersecurity,engineering,infrastructure,compliance,andbusinessstakeholderstoinvestigatedatasecurityincidents,performrootcauseanalysis,anddriveremediationactivities.

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

      • Hands-on experience developing and tuning advanced DLP detection logic using Regex,dictionaries,ExactDataMatch(EDM),fingerprinting,andrelatedcontentinspectiontechniques,withproficiencyinsecurityanalyticsandreportingtoolssuchasSplunk,Chronicle,PowerBI,orcomparableplatforms.

      • Experienceimplementingandsupportingnetworksecurity,emailsecurity,securewebgateway,proxy,andfirewalltechnologiesfocusedonpreventingdataexfiltrationandunauthorizeddatamovement.

      • ExperiencesecuringAI/MLenvironments,includingLargeLanguageModels(LLMs),GenerativeAIsolutions,AIagents,andMLOpsplatforms,withastrongfocusondataprotection,governance,andriskmanagement.

      • DemonstratedsuccessleadingDLP,informationprotection,ordatasecurityengineeringinitiativesanddeliveringenterprise-scalesolutionsthroughcollaborationwithcybersecurity,engineering,infrastructure,data,andbusinessstakeholders.

      • Experiencesupportingmission-criticalsecurityplatformsinlargeenterpriseenvironments,includingparticipationinon-callrotationsandtheabilitytoprovideoff-hoursandweekendsupportwhenrequired.

      • RelevantindustrycertificationssuchasMicrosoftInformationProtectionAdministrator(SC-400),MicrosoftSecurityOperationsAnalyst(SC-200),CCSP,CISSP,CCSK,AWSSecuritySpecialty,orequivalentcloudandsecuritycertifications.

      • Strongcommunication,stakeholdermanagement,andproblem-solvingskills,withtheabilitytoinfluencetechnicaldecisionsandtranslatecomplexsecurityconceptsforbothtechnicalandnon-technicalaudiences.

      EDUCATION

      Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience).

      Pay Range

      The typical pay range for this role is:

      $101,970.00 - $203,940.00

      This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
