Job Description

Serve as the primary business development and marketing advisor to practice group leaders, partners, and key stakeholders.

Develop and execute strategic business development and marketing plans aligned with practice goals and budgets.

Lead client-focused, data-driven marketing campaigns that support client retention, expansion, and new business growth.

Analyze market trends, competitive intelligence, and client needs to identify growth opportunities and strategic initiatives.

Drive submissions and recognition efforts for Chambers, Legal 500, and other industry rankings and awards.

Partner with attorneys to develop winning pitch strategies, proposals, and RFP responses.

Create and execute go-to-market strategies, messaging, and branding initiatives that elevate the firm's profile.

Plan and manage client-facing events, seminars, and thought leadership programs, including ROI measurement.

Identify and oversee conference, sponsorship, and relationship-building opportunities that support practice growth.

Collaborate cross-functionally with practice management, finance, pricing, research, recruiting, innovation, and DEI teams to advance firm priorities.

This role can be based in New York, Philadelphia or Washington, DC.

The Successful Applicant

A Senior Client Development Manager should have:

Bachelor's degree required; JD or MBA strongly preferred

9+ years of marketing and business development experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment

Strong strategic planning, business development, and project management capabilities

Proven ability to influence partners and senior stakeholders

Strong commercial acumen and understanding of client relationship management

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience mentoring and developing team members with formal managerial responsibilities

Strong understanding of legal industry dynamics and competitive markets

What's on Offer

The salary range for this role is $200,000 - $220,000 USD for New York, Philadelphia and Washington, DC. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance. The successful candidate may be eligible for annual discretionary bonus. The firm offers a comprehensive package of benefits including Paid Time Off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k), life and AD&D insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, healthcare FSA, commuter benefits, paid parental leave, back-up childcare to eligible employees. This role requires 4 days/week on-site.
