Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead and support engineering design projects in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The ideal candidate will have 7–10 years of civil/structural engineering experience and a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license. This role involves structural analysis and design, engineering calculations, technical documentation, project management, field inspections, and construction administration. The successful candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and experience supporting projects in the oil and gas, refining, chemical, and manufacturing industries.
Job Responsibilities
Perform engineering studies, structural calculations, detailed design, technical documentation, and specification development.
Prepare project cost estimates and provide engineering support during installation and construction.
Develop, maintain, and update technical standards, specifications, and design criteria.
Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, reports, and other engineering deliverables.
Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) for complex, high-temperature gas ducts and stacks.
Manage engineering project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and overall progress.
Monitor daily engineering activities to ensure quality standards and project deadlines are met.
Perform field inspections and provide construction administration support.
Provide technical guidance to clients and support business development initiatives.
Lead, coordinate, and mentor engineering staff and civil/structural designers.
Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and contractors.
Identify project scope changes and prepare revisions for work outside the original scope.
Ensure compliance with applicable engineering codes, regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
7–10 years of relevant civil/structural engineering experience in consulting, industrial engineering, or field support.
Strong background in structural engineering design, analysis, and project delivery.
Experience with industrial projects in the oil and gas, refining, chemical, or manufacturing industries, preferably in Louisiana.
Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and leading engineering or design teams.
Ability to review and approve engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, applicable codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Excellent communication, coordination, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background screening.
Must be able to obtain OSHA and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) cards.
