    Description

    Metric Engineering is seeking a seasoned, Florida-licensed Senior Engineer to join our team in a flexible, part-time capacity. This role is designed for an experienced professional who is interested in contributing on an as-needed basis as a Quality Control (QC) Reviewer and Senior Technical Advisor.
    This is an excellent opportunity for a semi-retired professional, an active consultant with available bandwidth, or a Professional Engineer (PE) seeking meaningful, project-based work without a full-time commitment.
     
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide independent quality control reviews of roadway and transportation design deliverables for FDOT projects
    • Ensure compliance with FDOT standards, project requirements, and industry best practices
    • Serve as a senior technical advisor to project teams, offering guidance on engineering design and procedural matters
    • Mentor and support engineering staff, helping to elevate technical quality and consistency across projects
    • Identify risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement in design documents
    Qualifications:
    • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida (required)
    • Extensive experience in FDOT roadway and transportation design
    • Strong knowledge of FDOT standards, procedures, and QA/QC processes
    • Proven ability to perform detailed technical reviews and provide actionable feedback
    • Ability to work independently in a remote, flexible environment
