About the Role: A premier motorsports company is seeking a Senior Chassis Designer to lead the design and development of high-performance race car chassis and mechanical systems. This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for professionals with deep motorsports experience and advanced CAD modeling skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze race car chassis and mechanical systems using CAD software
- Develop parametric models, technical drawings, and design documentation
- Interpret test results and apply findings to improve performance
- Lead engineering projects and mentor junior engineers
- Coordinate design activities across development, scheduling, and testing
- Evaluate and implement design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
- Ensure compliance with engineering principles and project requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of motorsports vehicle design experience
- Strong background in race car chassis and suspension systems
- Proficiency in CAD software and parametric modeling
- Experience with prototype machining, castings, and treatment processes
- Knowledge of raw material specifications, drawing control procedures, and cost calculations
- Strong analytical and project management skills
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs of vehicle components
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with mechanical systems testing and data analysis
- Experience in design reviews and engineering documentation
- Understanding of engineering theories and their application to real-world design
