    Senior Capital Projects Manager

    What You’ll Own

    You will have end-to-end ownership of complex capital projects within a chemical manufacturing environment — from early concept through startup and handover. Success in this role means delivering projects safely, on time, on budget, and fully aligned with business strategy.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the full project lifecycle, including conceptual design, estimating, detailed planning, execution, commissioning, and deployment.

    • Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, and resources across multiple concurrent projects.

    • Ensure all projects directly support strategic business objectives, managing scope, change control, and interdependencies between operations, technology, and business needs.

    • Chair project team meetings and drive day-to-day execution, resolving issues related to scope, risk, dependencies, and critical path activities.

    • Lead or participate in feasibility studies, vendor evaluations, and proposal reviews in collaboration with key stakeholders.

    • Define and manage Statements of Work (SOWs), technical specifications, and contractor performance for goods and services.

    • Apply deep knowledge of project and program management methodologies to maintain predictable, high-quality delivery.

    • Serve as a technical leader for Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including leading or supporting:

      • Risk Assessments

      • HAZOPs, MOCs, PSSRs, LOPAs

      • Development and implementation of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)

    • Provide clear, concise status reporting on milestones, deliverables, risks, and dependencies to leadership and stakeholders.


    Requirements

    What Makes You a Strong Fit

    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Chemical Engineering strongly preferred).

    • 15–20 years of hands-on capital project management experience in chemical manufacturing or similar process industries.

    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, each at different stages of execution.

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence across engineering, operations, and leadership teams.

    • Excellent technical judgment and data analysis capabilities.

    • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new chemistries, processes, and technologies and apply them effectively in project execution.
