Position Overview
Working directly under the Senior Manager of Depot Operations, the Senior Cable Depot Manager will be responsible for assisting in Cable Depots project planning, tracking, execution and reporting of operations for department 2106. This position requires a multitude of facets including but not limited to personnel assignment and management, project planning and budgeting, inventory tracking & reporting, personnel and equipment safety, equipment maintenance, vessel & remote depot mobilizations & demobilizations, and program customer support operations worldwide.
The Senior Depot Manager is responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with the daily operations of the shipping and receiving department and warehouse operations at remote facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring all depot managers are properly trained in identifying and classifying hazardous materials and complying with international and local shipping laws. The Senior Depot Manager is directly responsible for ensuring all shipping, receiving and warehousing operations at SubCom Depots and customer depots are done in accordance with international and local customs laws and bonded warehouse operations. This role is responsible for the enforcement of safe operations of forklifts, cranes and other specialized equipment to effectively load, and offload goods received and shipped from various platforms including Cable ships, freighters, barges and trucks in accordance with OSHA and company policies.
This individual is responsible for ensuring accurate record keeping of inventories, commercial invoices and BOL's are kept in accordance with company and customer standards, as well as compliance with ISO 9001. The Senior Depot Manager is responsible for ensuring periodic maintenance and scheduling for all Depot buildings, equipment, and grounds are completed in a timely manner and all OSHA and Fire Prevention Standards are adhered to.
Frequent traveling to and from remote locations will be a standard job function ensuring that all localities, customers, and personnel are aware of planned work to be completed. Role will have a clear understanding of all equipment, can lead others safely, provide clear work instructions, be self-motivated, and have an overall good work ethic while performing and assigning all tasks.
The ability to use Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, and Outlook email. Must have, or be able to obtain, passport, TWIC Card, DOD security clearance, a forklift operator's license and Cat 3 Crane Operator certification and rigger certification. Any other MHE certifications would be a plus.
