Position Overview

TalentBridge is partnering with an established industrial manufacturing organization to identify a Senior Buyer to support procurement, supplier coordination, and material planning activities within a custom manufacturing environment.

This individual will play a key role in managing purchasing operations, supporting production schedules, and partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Planning, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure materials and components are delivered accurately and on time. The environment is highly collaborative and supports engineered-to-order products and production workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Purchasing & Supplier Management

  • Execute and manage purchase orders for production materials, fabricated parts, and industrial components
  • Monitor supplier lead times and delivery schedules to support manufacturing demands
  • Expedite critical orders and resolve delivery issues impacting production timelines
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, pricing, and supplier data within ERP systems

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Partner closely with Engineering and Operations teams to ensure purchased materials meet technical and production requirements
  • Support sourcing efforts tied to engineering changes, prototype builds, and new product introductions
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to maintain alignment on scheduling and material availability

Inventory & Production Support

  • Work alongside planning and inventory teams to support material availability and stock optimization
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation, cycle count investigations, and supply continuity initiatives
  • Help identify opportunities for supplier performance improvements and lead-time reduction

Supplier Communication

  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and provide consistent follow-up on open orders and commitments
  • Support resolution of supplier quality or fulfillment concerns in partnership with internal stakeholders

Qualifications

Required

  • 2–5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Experience working within ERP systems for purchasing and supplier management
  • Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings/specifications
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred

  • Experience supporting engineered-to-order or custom manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with machined, fabricated, or industrial components
  • Exposure to intercompany purchasing or multi-site manufacturing operations
  • ERP experience such as SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or similar systems
