Who We’re Looking For:

As a key member of the Purchasing team, the Senior Buyer will be responsible for executing purchasing activities and managing supplier performance to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials supporting Laborie's global manufacturing operations. This role serves as the primary day-to-day liaison between suppliers and cross-functional teams including Supply Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Operations.

The Senior Buyer is an experienced procurement professional and problem-solving leader within the Purchasing organization. This individual manages supplier communications, purchase order execution, delivery performance, shortage mitigation, and supply continuity activities for assigned suppliers and product families.

This position reports to the Senior Manager of Purchasing.

 

About the Role:

  • Manage purchase order execution, supply planning, and supplier performance for assigned suppliers and commodities, ensuring continuity of supply and achievement of delivery objectives
  • Lead supplier relationship management activities, including business reviews, performance discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive resolution of supplier delivery, quality, and supply continuity concerns through recovery planning, escalation management, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Lead supplier commercial activities, including pricing negotiations, contract support, claims resolution, and identification of cost reduction and value improvement opportunities

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Materials Management, Manufacturing Operations, or a related function
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing supplier relationships and material supply in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with purchase order management, supplier delivery performance, inventory and material planning, shortage mitigation, supply continuity, advanced Microsoft Excel, and ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, or related professional certification
  • Medical device, life sciences, or other regulated manufacturing experience
  • Experience working within an ISO 13485 environment
