    Position Summary:

    The Senior Buyer is an attentive and team-oriented individual who will perform a variety of task supporting the continuous operation of the business through purchase order management, inventory management and various other tasks as needed. The Senior Buyer will also have a high attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced, growing environment.

    *This is an onsite position in Plattsmouth, NE*

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business.
    • Create profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset losses.
    • Conduct daily purchasing needs including, placing, and reconciling purchase order confirmations, reviewing, and maintaining re-order points for stock items.
    • Develop key reporting metrics and manage departmental performance.
    • Develop and maintain Supplier Scorecards and review with Suppliers and internal team on an ongoing basis.
    • Work with Product Development and other internal departments on sourcing materials for cost improvement and effectiveness for current products.
    • Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
    • Provide support to production to ensure all raw materials are ready for production.
    • Prepare and maintain purchase order data while supporting and increasing effectiveness and efficiency of processes.
    • Gather data from different reports and align those reports to present to Supply Chain and Operations.
    • Researching new suppliers and making recommendations.
    • Work with internal departments to resolve delivery, pricing, availability, and payment issues.
    • Notify internal departments of potential delays in purchase orders.
    • Cross trained to support multiple supply chain functions.
    • Provide support to Operations and Demand Planning.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years of progressive purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing experience in a manufacturing or regulated industry.
    • Experience purchasing raw materials, packaging, ingredients, or other production-critical materials.
    • Strong background in supplier negotiations, purchase order management, inventory planning, and supplier performance management.
    • Demonstrated experience developing supplier scorecards, purchasing KPIs, and cost-saving initiatives.
    • Working knowledge of reorder points, safety stock, lead times, obsolete inventory, and material shortage prevention.
    • Experience partnering with Production, Operations, Quality, Demand Planning, Product Development, Finance, and Accounts Payable.
    • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field preferred.
    • Experience with ERP or MRP systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
    • Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to changing production and supply needs.
    • Experience in food, CPG, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, or similar manufacturing environments strongly preferred.
    • Travel up to 10%

    Physical Demands / Work Environment:

    • Must be able to sit/stand for 8 hours.
    • Walking, bending, light lifting up to 25 lbs.
