Senior Buyer

Pay Rate: $40 per hour - $42 per hour

Summary:

• 1st shift: 8:00am - 4:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Manage the procurement of indirect materials, equipment, and services, including MRO, facilities services, tooling, professional services, IT hardware/software, calibration, and EHS.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to define requirements, scope statements, and service-level expectations before procurement.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities, solicit and analyze competitive quotes, and execute sourcing decisions in alignment with commodity strategies.
• Manage purchase requisitions and convert into orders in accordance with purchasing procedures and compliance requirements.
• Ensure on-time delivery and service quality; escalate and mitigate risks proactively.
• Execute purchasing transactions.
• Support contract negotiations, renewals, and documentation management for indirect categories.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the indirect procurement process.
• Support maintenance of ERP data including supplier setup and supplier information.
• Serve as the primary contact for indirect suppliers inquiring on open invoices and provide timely communication regarding invoice status, risks, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate with the direct purchasing team to resolve material flow issues including indirect material stock out, hardware replenishment, missing quality paperwork, and vendor RTVs.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Supply Chain function required.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the company States without company sponsorship.
• Strong customer focus, verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Aerospace buying experience in a large corporate environment.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Basic understanding of Mil-Specs and blueprints.
• Experience with negotiation & cost analysis.
• Planning, scheduling, or purchasing experience.
