Overview

Microsofts Windows Device Sales (WDS) organization partners with the worlds largest device and technology companies to bring Microsoft software and services to market through compelling hardware solutions globally. WDS plays a critical role in driving Microsofts revenue, profitability, and platform growth by shaping the device ecosystem across OEMs, channels, distributors, resellers, and silicon partners.

In the WDS Business and Strategy Operations organization, the Business Operations team drives the operational execution of Enterprise programs and approved investments. Working across Sales, Category, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Legal, Compliance, PMO, and investment program owners, the team translates business priorities into actionable plans, establishes operational processes and accountability, and helps ensure investments deliver measurable business value.

As WDS expands its Enterprise Commercial initiatives, we are establishing a new Senior Business Operations Manager role, focused on Enterprise Programs, to strengthen execution oversight and build a more consistent, scalable approach to managing these programs. This role will help bridge the gap between program strategy and operational delivery, ensuring priorities translate into coordinated action and results.

As Senior Business Operations Manager, you will oversee the execution of assigned Enterprise programs, manage milestones and dependencies, proactively address risks and delivery challenges, and provide clear visibility into progress and outcomes. You will work closely with program owners and cross-functional partners to drive timely delivery, improve operational efficiency, and establish repeatable processes that support continued growth.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Enterprise Program Execution: Manage the operational execution of assigned Enterprise programs and approved investments, from implementation through ongoing operations, ensuring delivery aligns with defined objectives and commitments.

  • Ensure Operational Alignment: Translate approved program requirements, governance, funding parameters, and success measures into actionable execution plans, maintaining alignment with the established operating model.

  • Establish Execution Oversight: Establish consistent reporting and operating rhythms to track program progress, risks, and outcomes, providing stakeholders with clear visibility and actionable insights.

  • Drive Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and address execution challenges, facilitate timely decisions, and escalate risks to maintain progress against approved objectives.

  • Improve Operational Efficiency and Scalability: Leverage established processes and execution frameworks to simplify workflows, improve handoffs, and drive more consistent, efficient, and scalable operations.

  • Manage Program Delivery: Translate approved Enterprise program requirements into actionable execution plans, defining milestones, deliverables, timelines, and dependencies to guide delivery through completion.

  • Drive Accountability and Issue Resolution: Establish consistent operating rhythms, track commitments, address risks, and drive timely decisions to keep programs on track.

  • Ensure Operational and Financial Compliance: Monitor program execution against approved scope, funding, and governance requirements, escalating significant gaps or issues.

  • Provide Program Visibility and Insights: Deliver timely, data-informed updates on progress, risks, decisions, and outcomes to support PMO reporting, investment reviews, and leadership decision-making.

  • Improve Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen execution practices, and leverage AI and automation to improve efficiency and scalability.
