Job Overview

The New Business Development Manager - Forestry leads a globally focused team responsible for driving growth in commodity parts sales, extended warranties, and supplemental offerings for the Forest Machine Business Division (FMBD) equipment across international markets. This role is ideal for a seasoned senior manager with extensive experience in global commodity parts sales and a proven track record of developing and executing commercial strategies that respond to regional market dynamics and customer needs. This leader will also need to understand global distribution and stocking approach that align with projected growth.

The position supports the creation and execution of new products and service offerings that enhance revenue and customer value. Additional responsibilities include active engagement in international dealer parts planning, trade show participation, and serving as the primary liaison between global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Drives aftermarket parts sales and relevant revenue streams that align with specific KPIs • Supports and leads the Aftermarket team with positive coaching to ensure goals are achieved • Creates short, mid, and long-term personnel structures that align with anticipated growth • Focuses on establishing a highly motivated team where training bench strength and succession planning are tied to success • Becomes a trusted resource within the global distribution network that resolves issues and concerns in a prompt and professional manner • Generates and supports global Aftermarket strategies through information gathering, planning, and execution of business plans • Coordinates across multiple business units, both internal and external stakeholders, to ensure prompt and accurate responses as it relates to both Aftermarket sales functions and strategy • Utilizes internal sales platforms that support primary job functions • Generates and presents to domestic and international executives both internally and externally ongoing performance and strategic initiatives tied to relevant Aftermarket objectives • Defines distribution strategies that align with existing internal and external supply chain investments and leverages to ensure FMBD sales growth success

Qualifications

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Operations, Business, or related field • Minimum requirement of 7 years working in or closely associated with Forestry and/or Global Logging Markets • Minimum requirement of 10 years of outside sales experience, business development, with significant focus on global commodity parts strategies and proven results • Minimum requirement of 5 years of strategic sourcing and global distribution experience focused on cost controls, white labeling, and branding alternative and tiered value product offerings • Minimum requirement of 5 years of management experience, remote staff experience preferred • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and contributing to enterprise-level strategic objectives • Current knowledge of forestry market and rolling stock associated with logging operations • Technical aptitude to understand basic mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic machine operations • Proficient with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Experience with Infor Syteline or SAP is a plus but not required • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Travel up to 75 both domestic and international with occasional weekend work • Must project a cooperative and positive attitude toward customers, employees, and the Company • Must comply with all environmental quality and safety rules, practices, and standards

Additional Information

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $177,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
