Senior Business Analyst – Workday Benefits Integration Support

Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support Workday integrations with external benefits and retirement providers. This role will focus on troubleshooting integration issues, tracing transactions across systems, identifying root causes, and coordinating with business and technical teams to resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and troubleshoot integrations between Workday and external benefits and retirement providers.
- Trace employee lifecycle, benefits, payroll, and retirement transactions across systems, including hires, transfers, job changes, compensation changes, payroll events, and terminations.
- Investigate discrepancies and determine whether issues are related to data, Workday configuration, benefit plan configuration, integration logic, transaction processing, or provider-side processing.
- Review integration files, data mappings, logs, reports, Workday transactions, and provider responses.
- Perform and document root-cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Work with Workday functional and technical teams, integration developers, benefits and retirement SMEs, vendors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Validate fixes and confirm transactions produce expected results across Workday and external systems.
- Identify recurring issues and recommend configuration, integration, data, or process improvements.
- Create and maintain end-to-end data flow diagrams for Workday benefits and retirement integrations.
- Track assigned integration issues and provide status updates through resolution.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in EACH of the following:
- 3+ years as a Business Analyst supporting HCM ERP implementations, production stabilization, or complex system integrations.
- 3+ years of Workday experience, particularly with Integrations, HCM, Benefits, Payroll, and employee lifecycle transactions.
- 3+ years of retirement or pension benefits experience, including benefit administration, retirement benefit system configuration, plan eligibility rules, or contribution processing.
- 3+ years supporting Workday or another large ERP platform during implementation, post-go-live stabilization, or production operations.
Additional Skills
- Experience with benefits providers, retirement systems, pension administrators, insurance carriers, or payroll-related vendors.
- Experience analyzing integration data, mappings, transformation rules, logs, and reports.
- Familiarity with APIs, web services, middleware, XML, JSON, flat-file integrations, or data transformation.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate across business and technical teams.
