Senior Branch Member Account Specialist (Universal Banker) - Syracuse, NY

Position Overview: As a Senior Branch Member Account Specialist (Sr BMAS), you’ll manage a broad range of branch and account-service needs, including opening and maintaining consumer, business, and IRA accounts; assisting with consumer loan applications; resolving complex member concerns; and supporting daily branch operations. Location: You will primarily support the Syracuse branch located at 500 Erie Blvd W., while occasionally providing planned, local coverage at nearby branches when needed to ensure consistent service and operational stability.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Position Title: Senior Branch Member Account Specialist - Offering $750 Sign-On Bonus

Position Overview: As a Senior Branch Member Account Specialist (Sr BMAS), you’ll manage a broad range of branch and account-service needs, including opening and maintaining consumer, business, and IRA accounts; assisting with consumer loan applications; resolving complex member concerns; and supporting daily branch operations. You’ll use consultative conversations to understand each member’s needs, recommend relevant products and services, and provide accurate, efficient support across both platform and teller functions.

Position Type: Full-Time. Typical shifts include Monday through Friday 8:30AM to 5:30PM, with rotating Saturday shifts 8:30AM to 12:30PM.

Compensation Range: $21.00/hr. - $23.00/hr. *Hiring rates may be dependent on a number of factors, including years of directly related work experience, education, geographic location or special skills*

Location: You will primarily support the Syracuse branch located at 500 Erie Blvd W., while occasionally providing planned, local coverage at nearby branches when needed to ensure consistent service and operational stability.

What You’ll Do:

• Open and manage consumer, business, and IRA accounts 
• Support consumer loan applications (excluding mortgages) 
• Resolve complex member concerns and escalations 
• Identify opportunities to recommend relevant products and services 
• Support branch operations including teller/MSR coverage 
• Provide notary services (training provided)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum qualifications:

• High school diploma and one to three years of related experience. Relevant experience may include customer service, retail, hospitality, cash handling, sales, banking, or financial services.
• Obtain notary license within 1 year of acceptance of role.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Proficient with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, PCs, etc.

Preferred qualifications:

• Associate degree preferred.
• Two to four years of customer service, retail, banking, financial services, sales, or other relationship-based experience preferred.
• Experience opening and servicing consumer deposit accounts
• Experience with consumer lending products and applications
• Cash handling and transaction processing experience
• Bilingual a plus
