We are looking for experienced Senior Book Editors with a strong track record of working on published manuscripts and books.
You’ll review and improve manuscripts across clarity, narrative structure, voice, literary style, grammar, and market alignment. The role involves advanced editing, detailed editorial feedback, content restructuring, and quality review of editorial work. No prior AI experience is required.
Review and analyze book manuscripts for clarity, narrative structure, voice, literary style, and market alignment.
Perform advanced line editing, copyediting, and content restructuring.
Identify inconsistencies, gaps, and opportunities to strengthen plot, character development, pacing, and thematic continuity.
Provide detailed, constructive, and actionable editorial feedback.
Review writing for grammar, syntax, consistency, tone, and overall editorial quality.
Develop or contribute to editorial guidelines and best practices.
Draft, revise, and polish editorial commentary and recommendations.
Communicate editorial decisions and recommendations clearly in written and verbal discussions.
Review and refine editorial work for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established style standards.
Apply sound editorial judgment across different genres and manuscript formats.
Extensive professional experience editing published books or manuscripts.
Strong command of English grammar, syntax, literary style, and editorial conventions.
Demonstrated ability to provide nuanced and incisive editorial feedback.
Experience with manuscript editing, line editing, copyediting, and content restructuring.
Strong understanding of narrative structure, character development, thematic continuity, and storytelling.
Ability to evaluate writing for both editorial quality and audience or market alignment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a remote environment.
Experience editing books for established publishing houses or prominent authors.
Editorial leadership on bestselling or award-winning titles.
Experience developing editorial guidelines, style standards, or quality frameworks.
Experience working across multiple genres and formats.
Familiarity with technology-enabled editorial workflows.
Previous AI evaluation, annotation, or model-training experience is a plus but not required.
