A services organization in New Jersey is seeking a Senior Benefits Specialist to support day-to-day U.S. benefits administration and guide open enrollment activities.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Monday through Friday
- Hours: Standard business
- Setting: Hybrid (at least 2 days onsite)
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day U.S. benefits administration for a workforce of approximately 350 to 400 employees
- Support open enrollment planning and execution, including employee communications and processing activities
- Administer leave of absence processes and coordinate related employee, manager, and payroll interactions
- Respond to employee questions regarding medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and leave programs
- Work with brokers, carriers, and vendors to resolve enrollment, eligibility, billing, and invoicing issues
- Maintain accurate records in HRIS and benefits administration systems and prepare recurring reports as needed
Qualifications:
- 6 to 8+ years of experience in benefits administration
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting leave of absence administration and employee benefits operations
- Strong knowledge of employer-sponsored benefits programs, including 401(k), healthcare, and open enrollment processes
- Experience with benefits invoicing, billing, and vendor coordination
- Familiarity with federal and state benefits regulations, including FMLA, ERISA, ACA, COBRA, and HIPAA
Desired Skills:
- Experience with PlanSource or similar benefits administration platforms
- Experience partnering with brokers and insurance carriers on renewals and rate changes
- Experience supporting benefits communications and change management initiatives
- Experience working with HRIS and payroll teams on benefits-related transactions
