We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, innovative and collaborative environment within the Scientific industry. Responsibilities:

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a vital role in the development and maintenance of our scientific computing systems. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Developing and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure backend services.
2. Building and managing APIs to facilitate communication between various systems and services.
3. Leveraging Python for backend development and data processing tasks.
4. Utilizing Redis for caching and queuing tasks to improve system performance.
5. Working with JVM and Java Springboot to develop and manage microservices.
6. Implementing and managing Kubernates for container orchestration.
7. Applying TypeScript for developing server-side applications.
8. Ensuring compliance with SOC2 standards to maintain the security and integrity of our systems.
9. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and develop solutions.
10. Troubleshooting and resolving system issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
11. Keeping abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our systems remain current and competitive.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Senior Backend Engineer position will have the following qualifications:

1. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, preferably within the scientific industry.
3. Proven experience with API development and management.
4. Proficiency in Python development, with a focus on backend services.
5. Experience with Redis for caching and queuing tasks.
6. Familiarity with JVM and Java Springboot for microservices development and management.
7. Experience with Kubernates for container orchestration.
8. Proficiency in TypeScript for server-side application development.
9. Experience with SOC2 compliance is highly desirable.
10. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues.
11. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
12. A passion for technology and innovation, with a keen interest in the scientific industry.
