Senior Backend Engineer

Senior Backend Engineer
Experience: 8+ Years
Location: Austin / Orange County / San Jose
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design and develop scalable backend services, APIs, and enterprise integrations. You will work closely with frontend, mobile, cloud, and CRM teams to build secure, reliable, and high-performing applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend applications using Python and FastAPI.
- Build scalable REST APIs, microservices, BFFs, and business services.
- Develop integrations with Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Dataverse and other enterprise platforms.
- Design asynchronous workflows and event-driven integrations.
- Implement security, authentication, authorization, caching, retries, timeouts and fault-tolerance mechanisms.
- Work with Azure API Management, Service Bus/Event Grid, Key Vault and Application Insights.
- Develop efficient data access and caching solutions using SQL/NoSQL and Redis.
- Write unit, integration and API/contract tests.
- Contribute to CI/CD, monitoring, observability and production support.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex backend and integration issues.
- 8+ years of backend software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and FastAPI.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs, Microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure application development.
- Experience with Azure API Management, Service Bus/Event Grid.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and Redis.
- Good understanding of OAuth 2.0, OIDC and JWT.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 / Dataverse Web API.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing and observability.
- Experience with BFF and API Gateway architecture.
- Event-driven architecture and read-model patterns.
- Headless CRM or enterprise CRM integration experience.
- Experience with Azure Functions, App Service, containers/AKS.
- Financial services or regulated-enterprise experience.
- Strong problem-solving and system design skills.
- Ability to work independently on complex technical challenges.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional and distributed engineering teams.
