We are representing an established public accounting firm in Melville, New York seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to join its audit practice.

This position is designed for an auditor who is ready to take meaningful ownership of engagements rather than simply execute assigned audit procedures. The Senior Auditor will serve as the in-charge auditor across engagements of varying size and complexity while working directly with clients throughout the audit process.

Job Details

We are seeking a Senior Auditor with 3–5 years of audit experience to take ownership of client engagements from initial planning through completion. This position requires a strong foundation in GAAP and GAAS, experience preparing and reviewing financial statements, and the ability to independently coordinate multiple engagements and client relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as the in-charge auditor for engagements of varying size and complexity
Plan and coordinate all phases of assigned audit engagements
Drive engagements toward complete and timely wrap-up
Prepare and/or review financial statements
Maintain thorough and accurate audit documentation
Manage multiple engagements with competing priorities and deadlines
Communicate directly with client personnel throughout engagements
Participate in and present during client meetings
Maintain high professional and ethical standards throughout all engagements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
3–5 years of audit experience
CPA or active CPA candidate
Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP
Solid knowledge of GAAS
Experience taking meaningful responsibility for audit engagements
Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills
