The Impact You Will Make

BPI is seeking a seasoned social and content strategist to guide integrated social media programs that advance our mission, amplify our impact, and protect our reputation. This role combines strategic planning, content creation, executive visibility, and rapid-response expertise, with a focus on thought leadership, public policy, and values-driven engagement.

  • Starting salary range: $77,000 - $85,000 (+ annual bonus)
  • Location: Expectation to work from one of our offices (NYC, DC, Chi, SF, LA) at least 3x a week

What Day-to-Day Looks Like

Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Translate broader client and brand objectives into clear social content plans, ensuring day-to-day execution ladders up to the bigger strategic picture
  • Manage always-on campaigns across key platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X/Twitter, Reddit, etc.)
  • Own social projects from brief through delivery, setting priorities, anticipating needs, and bringing in the right internal partners at the right moments

Content Development

  • Manage content calendars, draft engaging copy
  • Deliver proactive and reactive messaging that shapes narratives
  • Support visibility tied to events, media coverage, and philanthropic initiatives
  • Exercise strong editorial judgment across social copy and content, synthesizing feedback from clients, strategists, creatives and other internal teams into a cohesive final product

Platform Knowledge & Innovation

  • Understand the social content ecosystem end-to-end, including content planning, creative development, production, approvals, scheduling and publishing
  • Be comfortable working across native and third-party social platforms and using performance or audience insights to help inform future content decisions

Project Management & Collaboration

  • Manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders and competing deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment without losing sight of quality or business objectives
  • Bring enough project management and creative production experience to keep work moving independently, troubleshoot roadblocks and maintain momentum with minimal direction
  • Serve as a trusted day-to-day owner who can connect the dots across strategy, creative and execution rather than simply managing tasks

Social Listening & Measurement

  • Use social listening tools to build searches/queries, monitor keywords and narratives, assess sentiment/volume, identify spikes, monitor competitors/issues, and turn the findings into a readout or recommendation
  • Monitor real-time conversations to identify risks, misinformation, and reputational threats
  • Deliver performance reports and insights on audience engagement and reputational trends
  • Refine strategies based on analytics and high-impact content themes
