NOTE: This position is located in the Bioanalytics, Analytical Operations Laboratory in Research Triangle Park, NC. This work performed is on-site and laboratory based.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will provide analytical testing support for development and process characterization projects. To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. • Perform analytical testing and analyses with minimal assistance using modern instrumental analytical techniques, including but not limited Karl Fischer moisture analysis, coagulation assays, enzymatic assays, and immunoassays.
• Relevant analytical test experience in a cGXP environment, including proper pipetting (volumetric, positive displacement, reverse) and a sound understanding of the principles of test methods. Proven awareness of and adherence to applicable regulatory guidance documents for cGXP testing, method validation, and CMC development are preferred.
• Operate and perform maintenance on modern analytical instruments, including but not limited to coulometric titrator, coagulation analyzer, immunonephelometer, plate readers.
• Accurately and contemporaneously document laboratory work in a research notebook or LIMS system. May contribute to report writing.
• Demonstrate a proactive, results-oriented approach with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Identify aberrant results, initiate investigations, and actively participate in problem-solving efforts that require independent and original thought.
• MS Office applications proficiency.

Senior Associate Research Scientist I:
Degree must be within a relevant field: (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Toxicology). Master's degree plus 1 year of relevant experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 3 to 4 years of relevant experience.

Occupational Demands:
Work is performed in a clinical and/or a laboratory environment. Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office equipment. Exposure to chemicals. Personal protective equipment required such as protective eyewear, garments and gloves. Frequently sits and bends neck for 4-6 hours per day. May stand and twist neck for 2-4 hours per day. Occasionally walks, bends and twists waist and squats. Frequent hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Moderate lifting of 15-30lbs. with a maximum lift of 35 lbs. May reach above and below shoulder height. Color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and to 20/100 in the other eye.
