ABOUT THE ROLEA leading global alternative asset manager is seeking an Senior Associate to join its Fund Finance team supporting a large, open-ended private markets investment vehicle. This role provides broad responsibility across fund accounting, SEC reporting, NAV oversight, liquidity management, technical accounting, and financial controls.
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of public accounting and/or financial services experience with exposure to private equity, infrastructure, alternative investments, or other complex fund structures.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Own day-to-day fund accounting and financial reporting activities.
- Oversee NAV calculations, capital activity, management fees, and promote calculations.
- Manage quarterly and annual financial close deliverables.
- Support the preparation and review of 10-Q, 10-K, and other SEC filings.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors and support annual audit activities.
- Maintain and oversee SOX controls and related financial reporting processes.
- Monitor fund liquidity and support treasury activities across the investment structure.
- Oversee investor subscriptions, redemptions, distributions, and other capital activity.
- Prepare and review technical accounting and accounting policy memoranda.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external service providers on financial reporting and operational matters.
- Lead and mentor junior professionals.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
- Support ad hoc finance and strategic initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Approximately 3 7+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Public accounting experience, ideally from a Big 4 or other large national accounting firm, and/or financial services accounting experience.
- Experience with private equity, private markets, infrastructure funds, or other alternative investment vehicles.
- Experience supporting publicly reporting and/or SEC-registered investment vehicles strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of SEC reporting, including 10-Q and 10-K filings.
- Understanding of fund accounting, NAV, capital activity, and complex fund structures.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- CPA preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
