The Senior Associate Athletics Director, External Relations, provides strategic leadership and executive oversight for all external-facing functions of UC Riverside Intercollegiate Athletics. The position directs marketing, communications, digital strategy, fan experience, broadcasting, and ticketing to drive revenue, boost attendance, and elevate Highlander Athletics. Serving as a key department ambassador and the primary liaison for multimedia rights, campus partners, and corporate sponsors, the Senior Associate Athletic Director aligns cross-functional teams to enhance the visibility, engagement, and financial sustainability of all 17 sports programs. The salary range for the Senior Associate Athletics Director, External Relations position is $103,100.00 - $196,300.00 annually. However, the expected pay scale is up to $173,000.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, UCR is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.\n \nOversees specific support functions of athletic programs, including scheduling and planning locations for sports events.Plans and coordinates programs and policy.Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive digital strategy that advances the mission, values, and brand of UC Riverside Athletics, with a focus on engaging key audiences including fans, donors, recruits, and the campus community. Provide strategic direction and oversight of all athletics digital platforms, including social media and content programs, ensuring alignment across all 17 sport programs and departmental initiatives. Supervise and guide staff responsible for day-to-day content creation, publishing, and platform management, establishing clear priorities, brand standards, and performance expectations. Drive a data-informed approach to digital engagement, audience growth, and revenue generation by setting measurable goals, evaluating performance metrics, and continuously refining strategy to maximize impact and visibility.
