We are seeking a highly motivated Application/Specification Engineer to join our Industrial Specialties Wire & Harness (ISWH) team in Highland Heights, Kentucky. This position plays a critical role in supporting our Specialties Business by transforming customer specifications and product requirements into manufacturable solutions that drive customer success and business growth.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about working in a fast-paced environment where engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams come together to deliver innovative products and solutions. This role offers the opportunity to contribute across the entire product lifecycle, from initial quote support and design interpretation through product launch and ongoing portfolio management.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to develop new products and solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Create and maintain complete Bills of Material (BOMs) for customer quotation packages and production releases.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Service teams to provide technical support and product expertise.
  • Support engineering change management processes, including reviewing, documenting, and implementing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
  • Serve as a technical liaison between customers and internal manufacturing operations to ensure successful product implementation and execution.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving existing product portfolios through product updates, enhancements, and technical support activities.
  • Participate in Design-to-Cost initiatives focused on improving competitiveness while maintaining product performance and quality.
  • Support New Product Development and Sales Vitality programs to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to simplification, sustainability, and continuous improvement initiatives across the ISWH product portfolio.
  • Analyze technical requirements and provide recommendations that align customer needs with Prysmian capabilities.
  • Support product launches by coordinating engineering documentation, product setup, and manufacturing implementation activities.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple functions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations, wire and cable products, harness assemblies, or other engineered products.
  • Knowledge of engineering change management processes and BOM creation/maintenance.
  • Experience with ERP, PLM, or product data management systems.
  • Understanding of product development and commercialization processes.
  • Experience working directly with customers to resolve technical issues and support product applications.

Working Conditions:
  • Office-based position located in Highland Heights, KY.
