About the Role
This role provides senior‑level technical leadership for mission‑critical
systems supporting a major AMI modernization initiative. The Senior Application
Development Lead oversees the design, development, integration, and testing of
inventory tracking, workforce management, and deployment routing systems that
manage communication module life cycles. These systems span multiple vendors,
operational teams, and technical domains, requiring strong architectural
judgment, cross‑functional coordination, and hands‑on development expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Co‑lead with
the System Integrator Lead to define complex technical requirements,
solution designs, testing strategies, and cutover plans.
- Manage AMI
Replacement and System Integrator vendors to ensure quality software
delivery, milestone achievement, and adherence to technical standards.
- Lead cross‑functional
teams through end‑to‑end testing and validation of integrated systems.
- Serve as an
escalation point for complex technical issues, driving root‑cause analysis
and permanent solutions.
- Research
emerging development tools, languages, and standards to support
procurement and modernization efforts.
- Develop backend
logic, optimize front‑end performance, and ensure seamless system
integrations.
- Monitor and
maintain high levels of system performance in production environments.
- Design,
execute, and analyze performance tests to identify defects, bottlenecks,
and improvement opportunities.
- Apply Agile,
SDLC, and modern development methodologies to manage technical
workstreams.
- Provide
preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely resolution of
complex issues.
- Perform other
duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience:
- 8+ years of
related software development or application engineering experience.
- Preferred: 4+
years leading complex software implementations with cross‑functional teams
and external vendors.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to
anticipate downstream impacts of design and implementation decisions.
- Ability to
communicate technical design decisions to technical and non‑technical
stakeholders.
- Ability to
evaluate trade offs among performance, security, usability, and
maintainability.
- Knowledge of
scalable, maintainable application architectures.
- Knowledge of
testing, deployment, and release practices for production systems.
- Skill in
designing reusable components and shared services.
- Skill in
leading complex development features or technical workstreams.
- Preferred:
Cloud platforms, cloud architecture, DevOps practices, and scalable
enterprise application design.
- Preferred:
Experience with project risk and contract management.
