Job Description:

Senior Android Developer

Location: San Francisco, California (Hybrid)

Role Overview

We are seeking a senior Android developer with expertise in Android native test automation solutions using Kotlin. The role involves designing, developing, and prototyping Android mobile applications for both internal and external use, as well as creating hands-on automation scripts for mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and prototype Android mobile applications for phones and tablets.
  • Participate in the full application life-cycle, including developing automation scripts, testing, and releasing to the app store.
  • Work with product teams on new product ideas, designs, prototypes, and estimations.
  • Keep up to date on current and upcoming features in relevant products and platforms.
  • Drive best practices to continuously improve products, processes, and tools.
  • Write and maintain documentation for all features in development.
  • Collaborate with the design team to define application features.
  • Ensure the quality and performance of the application meets specifications.
  • Identify potential problems and resolve application bottlenecks.
  • Fix application bugs before the final release.
  • Publish applications on the App Store.
  • Maintain the code and atomization of the application.

Required Qualifications

Education: A bachelors degree in computer science or software engineering is required.

Experience: This position typically requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience on the Android Platform, with development using Kotlin and/or Java.
  • Development experience in Core Java.
  • Experience writing automated tests using frameworks like Appium.
  • Proficiency in designing and building native mobile applications on the Android platform.
  • Proficiency in Objective-C, Swift, and Swift UI.
  • Extensive knowledge of XCode.
  • Proficiency in Kotlin, Objective-C, Web Services, Rest Services, Core Java, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and XML.
  • Proficiency with code versioning tools including Git and Bitbucket.
  • Knowledge of C-based libraries.
  • Familiarity with Biometrics, push notifications, and usage of Camera APIs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with continuous integration and unit tests.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong focus on troubleshooting and issue resolution.
