Role Summary

The Senior Analyst, Sales & Property Tax will serve as a key contributor within the tax function, owning complex sales, use, property, and industry specific tax compliance activities across a large multi location environment. This role offers significant visibility and the opportunity to become a trusted advisor on tax matters while supporting business growth and operational efficiency.
 
This individual will lead complex compliance responsibilities, conduct technical tax research, support audits and audit defense activities, and partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely filings. The position is ideal for an experienced tax professional seeking expanded responsibilities and a potential future path into leadership.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Own complex sales, use, property, and industry related tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
• Conduct technical tax research and provide recommendations on complex compliance matters
• Lead audit support activities, including audit defense, documentation gathering, and response preparation 
• Manage the monthly compliance process from initiation through filing authorization and submission
• Coordinate with external tax providers to ensure timely and accurate tax filings
• Partner with operational and finance teams to address tax questions, variances, and compliance concerns
• Serve as a senior resource to team members and support collaboration with global business partners
• Identify process improvement opportunities and support automation and efficiency initiatives
 
Key Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive sales and use tax experience with hands on ownership of complex multistate compliance
• Experience managing tax compliance processes from planning through filing and reconciliation
• Strong background in tax research, audit support, and audit defense activities
• Experience working within large multi location or multi entity organizations
• Proficiency with tax technology platforms, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across various levels of the organization
 
Preferred Skills
• Experience with property tax, business licenses, occupancy taxes, or similar indirect tax functions
• Background supporting restaurant, retail, hospitality, travel, entertainment, or other multi location businesses
• Experience with Vertex, PeopleSoft, CorpSales, or similar tax and ERP platforms
• Exposure to Alteryx, automation tools, or process improvement initiatives
• Experience mentoring, training, or informally leading team members
• Prior involvement with complex audit defense and multistate tax matters
