    The Impact You Will Have  

    As a Senior Analyst, you will be an integral member of a dynamic four-person debt production team within Walker & Dunlop’s Affordable Housing Platform and closely integrated with the firm’s broader Capital Markets business. The team advises clients on multifamily debt financing strategies across affordable and conventional transactions, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans, project-level financings, portfolio loans, structured finance solutions, and other capital markets opportunities.

    Working closely with senior Producers, you will support the full transaction lifecycle while gaining direct exposure to clients, lenders, investors, and other capital providers. Your work will contribute to transaction strategy, underwriting quality, efficient execution, and the overall client experience while building expertise across multifamily debt financing and capital markets. You will also play an important role in fostering strong relationships and a collaborative, positive team environment.

    Primary Responsibilities 

    • Lead financial modeling, underwriting analysis, and loan sizing for multifamily financing transactions across affordable and conventional assets, including Fannie Mae (DUS), Freddie Mac (Optigo), project-level loans, portfolio loans, and other structured financing opportunities
    • Prepare and review underwriting and financing packages, including Agency Narrative Packages, market analyses, rent and sales comparables, maps, property photos, and other supporting materials
    • Analyze rent rolls, historical operating statements, budgets, and other property-level financial information to support underwriting conclusions and financing recommendations
    • Research and analyze expense comparables, CoStar reports, property tax information, and other third-party market and property data
    • Prepare and coordinate quote packages, financing options, and capital markets materials for submission through Agency systems and distribution to institutional lenders and other capital providers
    • Manage and maintain accurate pipeline tracking and reporting in Salesforce across a high volume of prospective and active transactions
    • Monitor transactions throughout the execution process and coordinate closely with production, underwriting, closing, legal, and capital markets teams to support timely and efficient closings
    • Participate in deal kick-off meetings, pipeline reviews, and weekly production meetings to promote alignment, accountability, and efficient execution across the deal team
    • Interface directly with clients, mortgage brokers, lenders, investors, capital providers, and third-party vendors to facilitate information flow, address diligence requests, and resolve execution issues
    • Contribute to the evaluation and execution of project-level financings, portfolio loans, structured finance opportunities, and other customized capital solutions
    • Prepare lender and investor presentations, transaction summaries, and other materials communicating deal strategy, credit considerations, and financing alternatives
    • Travel periodically for property inspections, client meetings, and other business needs
    • Perform other duties as assigned
    • Attendance is generally required from 8:30 am – 5:30 pm local time, Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

    Education and Experience 

    • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or a related field preferred
    • 3+ years of financial analysis or underwriting experience in commercial real estate, multifamily finance, Agency lending, debt capital markets, or a related field
    • Experience with multifamily Agency underwriting, debt capital markets, structured finance, or portfolio lending strongly preferred
    • Affordable housing finance experience is a plus

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

    • Strong financial modeling and underwriting skills with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
    • Solid understanding of multifamily real estate finance, credit fundamentals, and debt execution; familiarity with affordable housing programs and Agency lending is a plus
    • Ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of concurrent transactions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate analysis, recommendations, and transaction considerations to senior team members and external stakeholders
    • Strong organizational skills, responsiveness, and ownership of work product in a lean, highly collaborative deal-team environment
    • Ability to take ownership of responsibilities, embrace challenges and growth opportunities, and demonstrate patience and adaptability when learning new processes
    • Sound professionalism, judgment, and thoughtfulness when working with colleagues, clients, lenders, investors, and other external partners
    • Ability to build effective working relationships and contribute to a positive, collaborative, and enjoyable team environment

    This position has an estimated base salary of $80,000-$90,000 plus discretionary production incentives. An employment offer is based on the applicant’s relevant work experience, applicable knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
